THE ENGLISH MEANING OF THIS DUA: The Translation: “Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs.” Arabic: ‏‏حسبنا الله ونعم الوكيل Transliteration: Hasbunallah wa ni’mal-Wakil The One Who made the mother merciful must inevitably be more merciful than her. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “Allah is more merciful to His slaves than the most merciful of mothers to her child, for the One Who made her merciful must be more merciful than her. End quote from Majmoo‘ al-Fataawa, 16/448 The devil dreads you of destitution and commands you of lewdness, and Allah promises you forgiveness and abundance. And Allah is All-Embracing All-Knowing. The devil promises you poverty and commands you to commit evil, while GOD promises you forgiveness from Him and grace. GOD is Bounteous, Omniscient. The meaning of reliance on Allah. Reliance on Allah means entrusting one’s affairs to Allah and relying on Him in all matters. Entrusting one’s affairs to Allah entails not turning to something or someone else for support. So reliance on Allah can be with regard to matters of creed, such that the servant’s heart does not turn to anyone .
